The NW2000 WiMAX Chipset Family HIGH Performance – LOW Power – HIGH Integration
The NW2000 is NextWave’s second generation WiMAX platform, which encompasses the NW2100 family of mobile subscriber baseband SoCs and the NW2200 family of highly integrated multi-band RFICs.
The NW2000 chipset provides an ultra-low-power integrated WiMAX / Wi-Fi solution to support power-limited mobile devices in a wide range of frequency bands.
Designed to minimize size and reduce power consumption, the NW2000 is optimized for bandwidth intensive mobile-multimedia applications such as mobile television, streaming video, video conferencing, and for Quality-of-Service (QoS) sensitive applications such as Voiceover-IP (VoIP).
NextWave offers a wide ecosystem of enabling tools aimed at reducing the time to market for next generation WiMAX broadband subscriber products based on the NW2000 family chipset. These include evaluation and development kits, complete product integrations and reference designs.
NextWave NW2100 The NW2100 is a highly integrated 802.16e SoC produced using 65nm CMOS process technology for maximum performance, ultra-low power consumption, and high integration.
NextWave NW2200 The NW2200 is a highly integrated RF analog circuit produced using an advanced SIGe BiCMOS process technology for maximum performance offered in a small footprint 68-pin QFN package.
The NW2000 family is ideally suited to a variety of broadband wireless-enabled devices such as:
- Smartphone and multimode handsets - Portable media players - Mobile broadcast receivers - PDAs - Portable gaming devices |
|
- Embedded laptop, UMPC and Mobile Internet device modems - External modem cards and dongles for PCs - CPE modems and residential gateways - Backhaul connectivity modules |
