NextWave’s Evaluation and System Development Kits (EVK/SDK) are designed to allow the early evaluation of the NW2000 chipset family and integration of its software within host platforms.
The evaluation kit allows RF/systems engineers to evaluate and test NextWave’s WiMAX radio and modem performance in addition to validating standard compliance and interoperability. Comprising the evaluation and test software, host drivers, MAC firmware, host connector, and embedded development module, the EVK can be controlled through a JAVA-based, user-friendly GUI.
An upgrade to the NW2000-EVK, the system development kit, allows integration and development of the NW2000 chipsets with most common development platforms. Its extensive API – provided with sample source code – exposes all functionalities needed to develop next generation WiMAX-based mobile products. The hardware documentation provided with the NW2000-SDK includes schematics detailing circuitry connections and bill-of-material for different applications using NextWave’s NW2000 chipset family, together with design guidelines describing recommended PCB routing of most critical blocks.
